“Just sell the damn stock”
I’m not afraid of complexity.
Not everyone feels that way, and the “return on hassle” isn’t high enough to justify underwriting an unfamiliar solution to derisking a concentrated stock position.
But when I see an elegant solution, something that snaps the Rubik's Cube into place, then I have to know how it works.
I’m vetting one of those things now, and I’ll provide the broad strokes below since it’s a work in progress.
Before that, I wanted to understand if “Just sell the damn stock” is common in my audience (mostly tax-aware advisers).
